I Can Hardly Keep from Telling You

A Vermont farmer was once sitting on his porch, with his wife beside him.  As he sat there that evening, the chores finished, the setting sun turning the sky to gold, it occurred to the farmer how much his wife meant to him.  It was about time -- they had lived together forty-two years.  The farmer's wife had stuck by him through thick and thin, through the comings and goings of children, amidst all the ups and downs of life.

So, the farmer turned to his wife that evening and said, "Wife, you've been such a wonderful woman that there are times I can hardly keep from telling you."
